DESERT DANCING
There's always something so calming about the desert. I love feeling the wind blow through my hair and kiss my cheeks. Smelling the crisp earthy air as I watch the sky go from blue to pink to orange to purple. It's easy to find myself, arms outstretch, dancing with the wind.

This trip was among some amazing women where we spent moments creating art, laughing and pushing ourselves outside our comfort zones. And at the end of it all, we laid down some blankets beneath the desert night sky (and the thousands of stars that watched down on us) and toasted to moments that we will cherish forever.

Come along on this End of Summer Adventure to Fiesta Island in Southern California. VW buses, ukulele's, photographs and fun! This is what California nights are all about.
My girls and I had a blast shooting, laughing and hanging around Fiesta Island with our yellow VW bus. We got the help from Haydee's Creative Flowers to decorate the bus with some amazing flowers, and Kim Egel who made some rad necklaces to match our colorful kimonos from The Witches. Such a fun afternoon out and about in beautiful San Diego. Oh, and Thanks to "Hottie", the puppy, for being so cute and adorable.

THE SAN FRANCISCO FERRY BUILDING
I jump off the muni at the Embarcadero Metro Station and with a short walk I can get to the area on the Embarcadero I need to be. Once I reach the foot of Market Street, the magnificent 245- foot tall clock tower on top of a waterfront building, marks I have arrived to one of my favorite destinations, the historic San Francisco Ferry Building.

Return visits “home” to San Francisco instantly evoke excitement to my core. It is early Saturday morning, 6:37am to be exact and I am just pulling up to my parent’s house from Los Angeles. In typical Dad fashion, I see he has been up waiting for my arrival. After an exchange of greetings, he starts advising me to save my city plans for another day so I can get caught up on sleep. However, even after a long night of non-stop travel, operating with very little sleep, I am too excited for my planned day in San Francisco, that I am not willing to sacrifice it for sleep.
I arrive at King Station, just across from AT&T Park which marks the kickoff for my day. The sun is on the rise, and with not a cloud in the sky I can tell it is going to be a beautiful day in the city. As I head to the machine to purchase my ticket, I notice for a Saturday morning the station feels quieter than I can remember. With a little wait, I jump on the Muni Redline, grab a window seat, and sit back for the 22-minute ride. It is just enough time for me to catnap, daydream and express gratitude before I arrive to my desired stop. It is in this moment that I am grateful for how accessible public transportation is in San Francisco. Not having to sit in a car again after last night’s road trip is a gift!

The iconic clock tower is “a famous city’s most famous landmark” (Caen) and stands as a dual representation of measurement; one of past time, history, and accomplished journeys; the other of present time, new connections, and aspiring adventures.
Once I step inside the Ferry Building, I feel the undeniable connection this place has to the heart and soul of this city. Originally, served as San Francisco’s only focal point for transportation, this hub was the only place where commuters and travelers could access the city, unless traveling from the Peninsula. Much like Carl Nolte observed, I have a similar feeling that, “Adventures began and ended...here”.
Now, way more than just transportation hub, the Ferry Building’s renovated Marketplace and weekly CUESA Farmers Market on Tuesday and Saturday, have made this a premiere destination for locals, foodies and travelers alike. Home to some of the finest farmers, food purveyors and restaurants it is “a testament to how much the Northern California’s culinary landscape has changed…” (Wall Street Journal). It has become much larger than the local culture, its lasting impact has been defined, and the Bay Area has changed how America eats.
As I walk through the Ferry Building, I can’t help but want to embark on a new journey for my time spent there; a celebration of all things food and San Francisco. As I take my time walking from shop to shop, the slower pace is allowing me to truly enjoy the organic artisan cheeses from Cowgirl Creamery, the well-cured meats from Buccalone, the warm bread from Acme, and the freshly shucked oysters from Hog Island Oyster Company. When I finally make my way down the long corridor, with very little stomach room to spare, I venture outside to the waterfront farmers market, where the stands of vendors seem endless. Having to stroll at a quicker pace because of time, I find myself stopping too frequently to sample the variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. Finally reaching the end to my loop, I make a final stop to buy fresh flowers for my parents. It is the street cello player next to me that signals the perfect end to my journey at the San Francisco Ferry Building.

When Jason and Sean of Audrey Alba Films shared with us their trip to Rise Festival, we knew we wanted to share with you all! These two filmmakers from San Diego, CA love to film fashion shoots and create custom wedding films.

Some days, you just need to fall asleep under the stars, in a tent, smelling like firewood and a little drunk on whiskey. You welcome the escape from that hustling energy of the city, the all-to-well-known biting addiction to social media, and oh the irritability of the sound of cars.

To Do:
Phone a friend.
Pack up.
Leash the pups.
Grab a Butter Coffee.
Gas up.
Drive North.
Roadtrip! Hop a few freeways out of LA, feel your shoulders drop as you pass through the Mojave Desert, press play on Lord Huron, and breathe deeper as you slow the car way down through small town after small town. Notice the odd connected feeling as the WiFi disconnects and the top left corner of your iPhone reads ‘No Service’.
Enter into Bishop, a picturesque California town with Fall foliage, firewood for sale along the road, and a smoked meat shop with really delicious jerky of all varieties (and yes, they have a Starbucks, damn). Go old school and actually ask someone for directions to the Bitterbrush Campground right outside of town in the dog-friendly Inyo National Forest. That is right California dog lovers, we said dog-friendly! Pets are allowed in all U.S. National Forests. Take a hike out of town and get your camp life on with your favorite furry friends and human friends.
Once camp is set up, take a quick trip on a dirt road into the eastern foothills of the Sierra Nevada into The Buttermilks, a popular bouldering area for climbers. Go there for the sunset. Purple and pink cotton candy skies, giant rocks and Coor’s Light is a great combination. You forget what city lights even look like.
Numerous hiking trails surround the area, a great day hike is Bishop’s Pass Trail to Long Lake. Do know, the elevation is real when you live at sea level. The scenery is too beautiful to rush anyways, snow along the switchbacks, big trees looming above, and glacial melt on the lakes. Hello bliss.
Leave the city. Go sleep in a sleeping bag covered by a tarp and some sticks. A true connection in nature happens. Like magic, the phones are nestled in backpacks, you are forced to converse over the firepit, and the silence, the sweet silence of the wilderness, will bring you home to a part of yourself that we so often disregard behind a computer screen.
Adventure on, connect deeper.
Note: Always check for permit info. Know when and where with fire bans. Be bear aware. Drink (clean) water.

Cinespia at Hollywood Forever Cemetery
For years I have been wanting to see a movie at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery (an event put on by Cinespia). I was finally able to get a few close friends together to see the cult classic Empire Records (1995) a few weeks ago and let me tell you -- What a blast!!

For years I have been wanting to see a movie at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery (an event put on by Cinespia). I was finally able to get a few close friends together to see the cult classic Empire Records (1995) a few weeks ago and let me tell you -- What a blast!! This was such a fantastic way to spend a Saturday night in the summer than spending too much money on a fancy dinner or going out to a bar. It was an experience, an ADVENTURE and the best part is that it would be appropriate for a group of friends, family, colleagues or.. even a date night. [hint hint guys]
Even though Los Angeles has some of the greatest weather [almost] year round, the movie nights only run from May through September and tickets (almost always) sell out a few weeks before the event.
Speaking of planning ahead, here is what I learned and wish I knew going into the experience. I want to pass along to those of you who are reading this; consider it a bit of a “How To” or “Do’s and Don’ts” (alter accordingly of course)

Do not wear heels. No – I did not go to the movies in a cemetery and wear high heels but I did wear a boot with a heel and even that was too much. Chances are you will be standing in line for quite a bit of time on cement, uneven grass and dirt and then walking to the massive field where you eventually find your spot. I took my shoes off immediately upon settling down and had to put them on and off to make trips to the bathroom. Next time, I will wear flip flops.
Bring a jacket or sweater! Even though our summers have hot days as soon as the sun goes down it gets chilly and a little damp.
Food: if you have time to pack your own picnic great! If you don’t and probably for about the same cost you can pre order picnic boxes from the amazing Food + Lab and save yourself a bunch of time. Food + Lab is literally down the street and you can pick it up with just a quick stop over. The picnic boxes are twenty bucks and include a big sandwich, deli salad, side salad, cookie and small bottle of water. All of the food is delicious.
Beverages. Ok, for fear of running out of wine we packed way too much and didn’t get through it all. The biggest drag about that is that glass is heavy! These days there are great boxed wines you can get from wine shops or Target and I would probably do that next time to lighten the load. They allow beer and wine only.
I have a few other tips that I think could be useful: If you can get a seat near the edge of the field it makes it so much easier coming in and out throughout the movie and when you are ready to leave. The one thing, that hopefully they will maybe come up with in the near future, is creating some marked out pathways because, as of now, people literally have to walk through your picnic to get to the inner seating areas. This is clearly because this has become such a popular thing to do and they want to maximize the amount of people they can invite to enjoy.
Remember: Movies are always on Saturday nights. Buy your tickets at least a few weeks in advance. Gates open at 7pm (with a long line so get there early) and shows start at 9pm.
Oh – and one last important thing. For those of you that feel it’s kinda creepy to be in a cemetery, don’t worry! You aren’t sitting on gravestones (unless you are in the smoking section which is ironically appropriate) and it really wasn’t strange at all!

Each person can bring to the table their talents and expertise. From the makeup artist who paints a beautiful palette of colors and flawless skin, a photographer who utilizes their camera and lighting techniques to capture contrast and tones that aren't always seen to the naked eye -- to the model who flows and moves in front of the lens to capture a feeling and moment. The results are always something to be proud of. That's why we are sharing this fashion-inspired shoot today at the iconic Salvation Mountain in California.
I've always been intrigued by Salvation Mountain near El Centro and traveled there recently to shoot with sisters, Patricia and Débora Vaz. Because it is so colorful there, I wanted all of the fashion to reflect that bold and bright style as well. I worked closely with the models to stylize the shoot for the perfect look(s). We hit it at the perfect time of day and got some great imagery! Enjoy!

Just to make things more perfect, Todd is the proud owner of an awesome yellow VW bus that they use as their weekend drive. So we were driving around in style :) It's amazing how many people stopped us to say hi and to talk about the car. Super rad!
Being huge fans of beer, we stopped at Bagby Beer Brewery for a quick drink at their awesome outside patio. Definitely a cool place to check out (read more about it here). And what better way to finished off the day, than with a beautiful San Diego sunset.

What happens when you put four photographers, their cameras and a bottle of wine on a sailboat? The Established California Team decided to head out on Saturday for a day out on the water in Redondo Beach. With help from South Bay Sailing, we were able to get out on the water, sit back and enjoy the wind in our sails.

CHEERS TO A NEW YEAR: An Adventure in Glamis, CA
It's rather surreal, being in the desert of south Eastern California. You could wander around the dunes for days and see little more than tire tracks in the sand. It's really hard not to get reflective, almost introspective, in this massive, empty space.
It's rather surreal, being in the desert of south Eastern California. You could wander around the dunes for days and see little more than tire tracks in the sand. It's really hard not to get reflective, almost introspective, in this massive, empty space. Maybe it's being out in a desolate space. Maybe it's being in a place that seems untouched by time, knowing that it looked virtually the same hundreds of years ago and will for hundreds of years. Whatever the reason, i found my thoughts grow more and more sentimental as the day wore on.
Seemingly removed from all time and space it is easy to step back and look at the year we've had. As we watched the sun set over the dunes, I didn't feel sad at seeing something come to an end. It is peaceful. I looked back to see all the amazing times we had and the amazing people we got a chance to work with and create something amazing.
Just as the last rays of sunlight, the dying moments of the day, cast the sky in its most beautiful and vibrant colors. I can bask in the sappy, sweet moment of reflection as my thoughts too turn beautiful and vibrant.
So lift a glass of champagne or whatever it is you've got.
Here’s to 2015.

A SNOWY CALIFORNIA: An Adventure in Mt. Shasta
A few weeks back, I was hitting a... let's call it "mid-life" crisis.. if you will... and I needed out of LA. I have some really amazing friends who live in a great mountain town in Northern California: Mount Shasta.

California is more than oceans, beaches and good weather. Believe it or not, there are mountains and snow and seasons here too. It's reason 123 of 1348238522 reasons I love living here.
While, mostly, I live in Los Angeles 300 days of the year (a LA native - I find myself traveling up to two months per the year most years) I feel, at times, LA can feel really suffocating. It's a concrete jungle that we have to navigate around everyday - to and from our day jobs.. our social lives.. our love lives -- it can get to someone sometimes.. and sometimes, Life calls for an intervention.
I love to travel. I've been really fortunate to be able to travel the world (as I slowly... er, quickly... approach my 30's) -- I've backpacked my way across Europe, climbed my way over the Great Wall of China and swam with the fish in Tahiti and Bali. Traveling is something that will always be close to my heart.
Well, a few weeks back, I was hitting a... let's call it "mid-life" crisis.. if you will... and I desperately needed out of LA.
I, luckily, have some really amazing friends who live in a great mountain town in Northern California: Mount Shasta. I called one of my best friends and was on a plane a few days later and boy, did I need the getaway. My first day there, I got in my rental car and turned off my cell phone and just let myself get lost. Navigating open roads, discovering the undiscovered (at least to me). It made me fall hopelessly in love with the city (so much I'm looking to buy a vacation home up there!)

Chasing Dreams
Having a support system, and people who make you feel like you can do anything, is rare. I'm not an expert in anything, nor will I ever be, but I want to offer some words of encouragement to all the dreamers out there.
So, I have dreams, as many do, but I'm also developing the courage to chase them, which I'm so excited about. The foundation was definitely laid by my parents. They always made me feel like I had the most amazing ideas and looking back I'm really grateful for that, because some of them were just flat out bizarre, but they never discouraged me from any of them.
Now that I'm married (eek!), my husband is my biggest encourager and I must tell him at least, ten new ideas a day; from parenting techniques, to inventions I think are going to change the world, to revolutions I want to start (I know, I'm kind of crazy), and he, just as my parents did, has nothing but positive feedback and support to throw at me. I don't know how I got so lucky, but through these three human beings supporting me, I literally feel like I can do anything.
I think that feeling is rare and I'm not an expert in anything, nor will I ever be, but I thought I'd offer some words of encouragement to all the dreamers out there. It might be harder to believe in yourself if you don't have those people that encourage you day in and day out and I just want to tell you, you can do it!
So to start:
1. Admit you have a dream. A BIG, BIG dream!
I had the epiphany a few nights ago, that I wasn't brave enough to say my dream out loud and actually call myself what I want to be, which is a published author. I feel, the first step in obtaining that goal, is actually calling myself a writer. That was scary and hard to do. I told my husband a few nights ago, "I am a writer." And he just looked at me kind of like, 'Yeah, you are, you write all the time.' Which gave me even more confidence, because he already views me as the person I want to be. So I just reaffirmed it to myself, telling him again, "That's what I do. I write. I'm a writer." This step was so, so small, but I can't even tell you how happy I am that I admitted my dream. It feels like I took a huge leap forward. **Disclaimer: only admit your dreams to a few people that are the absolute, closest to you, because you do not need any discouragement when you take this first plunge into chasing your dream!**
2. Envision.
This is kind of along the lines of meditating, but I think you should take about 20 minutes a day to yourself and just envision what you want your life to be. I'm a true believer in your thoughts become things, so you better know what you're thinking, before you end up somewhere you never wanted to be. You have to picture your success. If you can't picture it, how can anyone else? If you don't believe your thoughts become your reality, that's fine, but still take these 20 minutes and it will excite you to work hard and figure out your next step.
3. Work hard and honestly and help other people get closer to their dreams.
Then, get to work! Lots of people's dreams are big and scary and you actually have no idea what the heck you're doing. You'll be a complete novice, but if it's your innate dream, you are most definitely supposed to be chasing it! So don't be scared. Dive in and learn. Mess up, redo, mess up again, and keep going. The most monumental lessons are from failure, so don't shy away from your dream, because you think you can't handle it- you can! Take your failures in stride and learn. Don't try to take a short cut either, because that is not chasing your dream, that's chasing money. If you have a solid dream, put in the honest work it takes to achieve it. Along the way, help people get one step closer to their dreams too. Dreamers helping dreamers, doesn't that sound nice? :)
4. Be grateful and enjoy the journey.
Life's a journey. Your life is here and now. Work hard for your ultimate dream, but appreciate the day you're in, the space you live in, the people around you, the hunger you feel inside, notice that and appreciate it. If you don't stop and recognize all of that now, you won't when you're successful either. All the cliches are true, we're only promised NOW. So embrace all it has to offer. You don't want to chase your dream, numb to all around you, with the thought, "Once I get there, I'm going to relax and look around and be happy." No, no. You need to relax, look around, and make the choice to be happy, now.
4. Keep trucking and stay open.
One of the biggest things I've learned is that you'll be chasing one dream and be bombarded with other ones that will lead you on a completely different path. Be open to that. Chasing your biggest dream is noble. You may never achieve that specific, dream, but staying on that path is going to put great things and people in your life. Listen to your heart and follow it. Just by doing that you're going to connect with the people you're supposed to connect with and your life is going to be better than you have ever imagined, just by staying true to yourself.
With those 4 things, I really believe, you can achieve whatever you want! And it's really funny, because I just write on this blog, I have 2 kids, my family is slightly in debt, we've moved back and forth too many times to count the last few years, we only have one car, we live in an apartment, and I always get the compliment, "You're doing so great! I'm so proud of you!" (Not just from my parents either, ha)! It just makes me laugh though, because if you look at my life on paper and measuring it by things, I don't have much and I'm not doing that great, but if you look at my life by the happiness I feel and the love that surrounds me, and the fire I feel within to chase my dreams, then I am living a completely, abundant life. :) So, remember what counts and if you don't have anyone on your side to support your insane dream, you've got me! I believe in you :).

HOT COFFEE, COLD BEER: An Adventure in North Park.
North Park has been a destination of its own for some time now. Its cultural diversity and trendiness has always provided a sort of gravity, drawing San Diegans in. Streets lined with art galleries, tasting rooms, specialty shops, and boutiques are crowded daily by people and pets, taking in the atmosphere and exploring the surrounding area.
In 1911, when North Park was founded, the only things besides a failing lemon grove were the rows and rows of Sear’s ready-made bungalows. Nearly 100 years since its inception, these homes stand in rows like brightly painted easter eggs in a carton. 100 years of paint and renovations show a town that has grown with each passing era.
North Park has been a destination of its own for some time now. Its cultural diversity and trendiness has always provided a sort of gravity, drawing San Diegans in. Streets lined with art galleries, tasting rooms, specialty shops, and boutiques are crowded daily by people and pets, taking in the atmosphere and exploring the surrounding area. One such new establishment to explore is Hammond’s Gourmet Ice Cream at University and 31st which offers a temptingly diverse selection of imported iced creams. In the spirit of broadening ones mind, and for those indecicives types, we recommend trying a flight of ice cream, which Hammond’s offers in ridiculously cute mini-tasting cones.
But Hammond’s is just one of the many new restaurants and boutiques that call North Park home and it was really just an instance of serendipity that lead us there out of the many. Along University Ave and El Cajon blvd, trendy bars, craft breweries, ice-cream parlors, and boutiques have made this town a place of cultural diversity and nightlife. The North Park Theatre stands at the center. Built at the town’s zenith in the 1920’s, the theatre brings together the “small town” history with the pedigree of art and creativity embraced by town today. Though business and people come and go, there’s something about North Park that wont change, and that’s what keeps people coming back.

SANTA ROSA PLATEAU, CA
While California may be the prettiest state in all of the United States, it is also, extremely populated. Sometimes, life can feel overwhelming and you just need an escape. Luckily, Tranquility can usually be found within a 15 minute drive out of town.

While California may be the prettiest state in all of the United States, it is also, extremely populated. Sometimes, life can feel overwhelming and like you need an escape. Although, there are millions of people stretched all over this wonderful state, there are also places to escape everywhere. Tranquility can usually be found within a 15 minute drive out of town.
Santa Rosa Plateau is one of those tranquil places. It’s located in a bustling part of southern California, but yet, feels like you’re in the middle of no where! Lots of southern California is a desert and it takes a while to find beauty in the desert scape, but once you can appreciate that, you see beauty all around you.
That’s what you’ll get at Santa Rosa Plateau; desert charm. It’s 9,000 acres of gorgeous trails and wild life. You can hike, bike, ride horses, and picnic all over the places. There are all sorts of programs and field trips you can attend to learn more about the area and the animal and plant species that inhabit it. In fact, they have so much to offer, you might want to check it out for yourself and visit their site.
And, if you’re a sucker for oak trees (like myself); this is the place! Around every corner, there seems to be a lovely, old Oak waiting for you.
Santa Rosa Plateau is a hidden gem in southern California. If you need a place to catch some fresh air and clear your mind; this is the place. You won’t be disappointed!

OLD TOWN TEMECULA, CA
The streets of Old Town Temecula are quaint and kind. People seem to walk a little slower and really take in the sights around them. All the little shops are primarily local businesses, which gives it an even more intimate vibe. There were pleasant surprises around every corner!
I was born and raised in Temecula, California. Growing up there, you tend to start to take for granted all of the gorgeous scenery and this town has to offer. Naturally, I gravitated towards wanting to write about Old Town Temecula, because I know how loved it is. But to be honest, I was kind of dreading spending my morning down there to photograph it. It was going to be a hot day and I had a lot on my to-do list.
I got there early, before it was too crowded, parked my car at one end and planned to take my time and slowly walk all the way down to the other end. Slowly strolling along, I realized, there was no where else I would have rather been. Even though, I had been on those streets hundreds of times, I was exploring them again, with new eyes. Old Town has still got it! It’s great for a date, family outing, or just some solo time for yourself.
I really felt like I was back in time. The streets of Old Town Temecula are quaint and kind. People seem to walk a little slower and really take in the sights around them. “Old Town” really is an old town. Through out the streets, with new restaurants and shops, there are also, real historic buildings, and pieces of buildings, that add to it’s charm.
Old Town is stacked with restaurants, as well. The most famous restaurants, in my humble opinion, are; The Bank (Mexican food), Rosas Cantina (Mexican food), Mad Madelines (burgers), and Swing Inn Cafe (breakfast). As a “local,” I’ve only eaten at Rosas Cantina and the Swing Inn and I have nothing, but great things to say! So, definitely stop by one of those if you’re in the area.
You also don’t want to miss Old Town RootBeer Company. They boast a huge selection of rootbeers and other sodas in classic, glass bottles and a nice porch to sit on. It’ll transport ya right back to when rocking in rocking chairs was cool.
There are antique shops, old record shops, clothing shops, all sort of knick knack shops, and of course restaurants, spas, and wine tasting venues. It’s the perfect place for an absolutely delightful day. Start at one end and just mosey all the way down to the other. It’s a great way to slow your world down and enjoy life for a few hours.
Old Town has also revamped it’s night life. The weekends are hoppin’! But that’ll be for another time, in another article. Cheers, friends!

Apart from the railroad tracks and scattered encampments of trailers and vans, the only signs of life are the endless tracts of fishbones that pave the shore of the Salton Sea. Then you reach Salvation Mountain, a diamond in the rough if there ever was one.

Then you reach Salvation Mountain, a diamond in the rough if there ever was one. For decades artist Leonard Knight scavenged the desert to construct this monument out of adobe, hay, and thousands of gallons of paint. The result is a folk-art treasure and universal place of wonder, a spiritual and artistic mecca.
Leonard’s heartfelt message, “God is Love”, will thankfully be preserved, but his legacy will be the extraordinary resilience and uniqueness of his work. Wandering through the hodgepodge structure, we were struck by the pristine strangeness of it all and the brilliant individualism of a man fulfilling his vision.
It is definitely worth the trip, if not just to behold this dazzling mirage once. The heat of the desert out there is…brutal, but sometimes you have to sweat your ass off to witness something remarkable. Discovering Salvation Mountain is discovering a technicolored spiritual and artistic oasis whose magnetism draws pilgrims just like us each and every day. Though we were dripping sweat throughout our visit, we left refreshed and inspired by this monument to those who shine their brightest, even in the midst of the desert

APPLE PIES AND EXPLORING JULIAN, CA.
Julian, California. Never heard of it? Well, we are ready to give you a reason to put this adorable town (just Northeast of San Diego) on your radar! From apple pie, to fields to candy shop - this is a town worth exploring on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
Julian, California. Never heard of it? Well, we are ready to give you a reason to put this adorable town (just Northeast of San Diego) on your radar! My adventurous friend Amy, and I decided to get off our butts and do something different. We decided to take a mini roadtrip up to the quirky mountain town of Julian. I had not been to Julian since I was a kid and had always had fond memories of the little downtown and going to the candy shop for a special treat. Amy and I frolicked in fields, ate lots of Julian Apple Pie and took a zillion photos (obviously!). The little mountain town has so much character and we made some great memories exploring it together.

Caftan and Cocktails in Palm Springs, CA
When you think of a Palm Springs Lifestyle.. what comes to mind? I instantly think of Frank Sinatra, lounging by the pool at his Twin Palms Estate, singing "I’ve got the world on a string" longingly to Ava Gardner. Or a 50′s beauty.. relaxing, drifting to and fro on the patio, with a cocktail between her jeweled fingers. When the temperatures start to soar in Palm Springs, what better way to carry that relaxed "cool-off" vibe than to mingle with a caftan on.. and a cocktail in hand?

When the temperatures start to soar in Palm Springs, what better way to carry that relaxed "cool-off" vibe than to mingle with a caftan on.. and a cocktail in hand?
The inspiration behind the Caftan and Cocktails shoot came from the vintage vibe that is a constant in Palm Springs. The city is full of mid-century homes mixed with modern, vintage shops. The city thrives on a mixture of new farm to table cuisine, beautiful architecture (old and new) and all that makes up the cool, laid-back and relaxed vibe that is "Palm Springs".
The desert also has the most beautiful sunsets, which played a part in the colors of the caftans against the backdrop of nature. Bright oranges and purples, taken from nature, were infused in the shoot with the cocktails and attire. Lounging by the pool is also a Palm Springs "lifestyle" essential.. which was why we choose such a fun location (The Viceroy Hotel) showcasing the laid back, vintage vibe. It was playful, colorful, and relaxed, which is exactly how Palm Springs should be!

SALTON SEA
I traveled into the desert with a few of my favorite creative humans and we explored the lost below-sea-level lake: the Salton Sea. Wandering around and discovering new places with friends, who have the same appreciation for nature, definitely makes me feel whole. These photographs are from our desert adventure.
I had the opportunity to travel to the desert with a few of my favorite creative humans and explore the lost below sea level, the Salton Sea. We had amazing laughs as we baked in the 107 degree heat and took some gorgeous photos of our experience. Kelly of Little Fox Flower Shop provided us with some beautiful floral arrangements while Kim Egel designed some stunning pieces of jewelry to wear on our adventure. Wandering around and exploring new places with friends who have an appreciation for nature definitely makes me feel whole.
